[Faculty of Global Nursing] Accepting Global Nursing from Tzu Chi University (Taiwan)

From June 29th to July 24th, for approximately one month, we hosted two Global Nursing from Tzu Chi University (Taiwan), one of our overseas academic partner institutions, at our Osaka Castle Campus. We provided them with a variety of learning opportunities so that they could broadly study Japanese nursing, medical care, and welfare.

During the first week, we attended lectures in English by faculty members from Faculty of Global Nursing, visited a midwifery clinic, and had an exchange session with our university students. In the second week, we visited a hospital, went to the ATC Ageless Center, and attended a guest lecture on sensory diversity on campus together with our university students.

In the third week, we participated in pediatric Global Nursing practicals and visited disability welfare service facilities. We also attended lectures on disaster nursing and visited the Osaka City Abeno Disaster Prevention Center "Abeno Tasukaru" to learn about disaster prevention and mitigation efforts in Japan.

In the fourth week, I participated in an off-campus internship at a multi-generational assisted living shared house, together with students from our university.
On the final day of the program, a presentation of the training results was held by students from Tzu Chi University, after which Professor Ohashi presented certificates of completion. A farewell lunch was also held with faculty, staff, and student volunteers, bringing the approximately one-month training program to a close. By learning through comparisons of nursing practices and healthcare systems in Japan and other countries, it was a valuable opportunity to deepen our understanding of the characteristics and challenges of both countries.

The program involved our university students as volunteers and host families, and students from the Global Circle were in charge of planning the exchange events. Through interaction with students from Tzu Chi University, it was a valuable opportunity to deepen mutual understanding of each other's cultures and values and broaden our international perspectives.
Our university will continue to promote ongoing exchanges with overseas academic partner institutions and engage in educational activities that deepen international learning and mutual understanding.
