I participated in the "Experience Corner" at the Nikkei STEAM2026 Symposium.

On July 31st, Associate Professor Yuki Terawaki of the Faculty of Modern Social Studies and two of her students exhibited at the "Experience Corner" of the "Nikkei STEAM2026 Symposium" held at Intex Osaka.

In the "Experience Corner," themed "Implementing Physical Prototypes into Space," 3D objects were projected into the actual space using AR (Augmented Reality) technology, utilizing software and tablets from HoloLab Inc. This allowed for spatial simulations that transcended the boundaries between digital and physical. More than 150 high school students visited the "Experience Corner," and they were amazed by the technology that reproduced buildings depicted on cards as realistic 3D images when they held them up to a 3D map of Hiroshima City on a tablet.

In addition, "Ramune," a LOVOT robot used by our university and manufactured by GROOVE X Co., Ltd., accompanied the symposium and made an appearance at the venue, attracting a lot of attention from high school students who touched and hugged it.

This provided many high school students with an opportunity to experience practical learning in the "Faculty of Human Information (tentative name, application for establishment approval pending)," which is scheduled to open in April 2027.

Furthermore, the Innovation Mentor Program in the Faculty of Human Information Science is an initiative that supports students' growth and broadens their perspectives through practical experiences, by having students collaborate with a variety of leading companies and experts, including HoloLab Inc., which cooperated with us this time.
