[Faculty of Global Nursing] Lecturer Tsuchiya presents on Japan's trauma care system at an international conference.

On September 3rd and 4th, the International Synergy for Nursing Excellence: Variety of Care conference, hosted by the Nursing Department of Maharaj Nakorn Chiang Mai Hospital in Chiang Mai, Thailand, was held online, and Lecturer Ryotaro Tsuchiya of Faculty of Global Nursing participated as a presenter.

Nursing and medical professionals from Thailand, Japan, Singapore, China, Canada, the United States, and other countries participated in this conference, sharing a wide range of knowledge on nursing practices and healthcare systems in various countries, focusing on themes such as palliative care, critical care, geriatric nursing, and trauma nursing.

Lecturer Tsuchiya gave a presentation on September 4th at the "Trauma Care Excellence Across Healthcare Systems" session, titled "Trauma System in Japan: Achievements, Challenges, and the Future Role of Nurses." She introduced the characteristics of Japan's trauma care system and past initiatives, as well as sharing information on challenges such as an aging population, regional disparities, and regional collaboration. She also discussed the role of nurses in connecting emergency transport, acute treatment, rehabilitation, and post-discharge life, and the future possibilities of trauma care.

The session featured presentations on the trauma care systems of Singapore, Japan, and Thailand, providing a valuable opportunity to share information on each country's healthcare systems, characteristics of trauma nursing, and challenges, fostering cross-border learning.
We will utilize the insights gained through presentations and exchanges at this international conference in our future nursing education and research activities, and contribute to the further development of international educational and research exchanges at our university.
