The 2026 "Self-Assessment and Evaluation Committee - External Evaluation Expert Committee" will be held.

On September 7th, Otemae University held the "2026 Self-Assessment and Evaluation Committee External Evaluation Expert Committee" meeting at the Osaka Castle Campus.

We invited representatives from the Osaka Prefectural Nursing Association and the Osaka Prefectural Dietitians Association—both public interest incorporated associations that have shown understanding and cooperation with our university’s educational activities—to serve as external evaluation committee members. They exchanged views with our university’s committee members, including the directors of President, Executive Assistant of the Chairperson, Vice-President, Dean, Dean, the Academic Affairs Office (Director, Managing Director), and the heads of Director General, Chief Administrator, and Career Support Office.

First, President gave an update on the university's current activities, including the fact that the university will celebrate its 80th anniversary in 2026 and the planned opening of the Faculty of Human Information Science in April 2027. He also requested feedback on educational activities, student selection, curriculum content, and learning outcomes, based on the university's three policies (diploma policy, curriculum policy, and admissions policy). Following this, Vice-President, Director of academic affairs, and Career Support Office explained the university's "three policies," "student selection," "curriculum content and learning outcomes," and "employment situation and employment support."

In response to the explanation, the external evaluators provided frank opinions, and discussions were held on three policies, educational characteristics, quality assurance of education, student support, public relations activities and information dissemination for student recruitment, improving the attractiveness of medical professions and securing talent, human resource development in the age of AI and DX, national examination pass rates and the attractiveness of the curriculum, etc.

This committee is held as a valuable opportunity to hear various opinions from industry, academia, and other stakeholders, and we plan to continue holding meetings in the future to further develop our university.
