The campus is now bustling with lively voices and smiles after the summer break. Faculty of Health and Nutrition has begun its fall semester, offering a wide variety of practical and engaging courses. This time, we'll introduce you to the students working on "Biochemistry Experiment I," a course for second-year students.
In class, we reviewed the basic handling of the equipment used in experiments and pipetting techniques for accurately measuring volume. Then, we worked on experiments such as determining how much protein is contained in egg white and detecting fingerprints using amino acids found in fingertips.
After the experiment, we analyzed the data obtained and deepened our understanding of what we had learned in the textbook. By connecting theory and experiment, we will acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to become a registered dietitian.
Experimental classes in Faculty of Health and Nutrition are conducted over 180 minutes, providing an environment where students can thoroughly engage in experiments, analysis, and report writing.
During experiments, faculty and Research Associate provide support, so students can ask questions immediately if they have any doubts. Ensuring that each student can learn safely and with peace of mind is one of the distinguishing features of our university.
I hope the fall semester will be a fruitful one for all students.
