Learn from specialists in each field! (Instructor: Ryohei Ebi)

In addressing local issues,
I've grown to be able to think from multiple perspectives.

What's appealing about Professor Ebi's classes is that we don't just learn about tourism as "tourism," but we can think deeply about it by crossing a wide range of fields such as history and economics, centering on local resources and challenges. In the "Nishinomiya Town, People, and Work Relay Lecture," we listened directly to people who are active in the community and reported on solutions to the challenges they faced. I realized that there are tourism resources everywhere, and I was able to cultivate the ability to view things from multiple perspectives. Attending Professor Ebi's trial class at the open campus and thinking, "I want to study under this professor," was the deciding factor in my enrollment. Through my studies at this university, I have developed initiative and communication skills, and I have grown into someone who can proactively take the first step.

Packed with the charm of the region
We produced a free newspaper.

In the seminar I belong to, the area around the Hanshin region where the Hon-Nishinomiya Shukugawa campus is located becomes the subject of research and the learning environment itself. We learn by participating in events held in the Hanshin area and Kobe, and by visiting the area in advance to conduct on-site research, interacting with local people. Another characteristic of the seminar is that there are many programs that leave a tangible "result," such as producing drip bag coffee and craft beer in collaboration with local companies, and creating a tourist information booklet that gathers information from a student's perspective. By utilizing your own interests and participating in a wide range of activities, your growth will surely accelerate.

Students Voice

Image of Sayaka Shimizu

Common sense changes from country to country.
That discovery led me to the world.
I want to build my career overseas in the future.

While focusing on Psychology, I naturally ended up taking courses that interested me, such as International Relations, English, and programming, which led to a crossover of subjects. I truly enjoyed learning in workshops on interpreting psychological tests and in seminars where I conducted experiments and surveys based on my interests. In the practical English program, I was surprised to learn that "common sense changes from country to country" through conversations with international students, which motivated me to travel abroad alone to see for myself. After graduation, I plan to pursue graduate studies to deepen Psychology, but the broad range of learning I received at this university has given me the strength to envision a future career overseas.
